Professional Accountants in Business Committee

 

Terms of Reference

1. To help identify needs, interests and concerns of Professional Accountants in Business (PAIBs). Develop an annual work plan to provide services catering for such needs and interests and oversee execution of the work plan (make revisions or set priorities, as necessary).
2. To oversee interest group activities, and, where appropriate, provide direction to organise activities for members working in different industries.
3. To contribute actively to Institute projects and activities relevant to PAIBs, for example, advising on and providing input into technical publications / guidance for PAIBs, consultations and other relevant areas of representation and advocacy work.
4. To advise and support the Institute’s representative on the IFAC PAIB Advisory Group, including providing views and comments on IFAC PAIB projects as they develop.
5. To help promote and strengthen the branding and core values of PAIBs, such as competency, integrity, professionalism and objectivity.
6. To utilize the expertise and knowledge of the committee to identify current and developing issues that may be suitable topics for CPD and educational events and/or research and other thought leadership projects, in order to support PAIBs' learning and development. Advise the Council, Executive Committee and all other relevant stakeholders of potential topics for selection and prioritization of work to be undertaken.
7. To promote and raise the society’s awareness of the PAIBs’ roles and value to the business sector.
