(HONG KONG, 26 June 2019) The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA") today announced the appointment of Ms Margaret W.S. Chan as the Institute's new Chief Executive and Registrar. Ms Chan will assume her new position on 11 July 2019.

Announcing the appointment, HKICPA President Mr Patrick Law said the Council is delighted to have secured Ms Chan for this important position.

Mr Law said, "Margaret has excellent business experience and the drive to help us take the Institute to the next level of development. I am personally very pleased that we have been able to attract someone with her calibre and track record to lead the Institute through the major challenges and opportunities ahead."

Ms Chan is a member of the HKICPA, bringing with her over 30 years of work experience in accounting, finance and corporate development. Prior to joining the Institute, she worked for the Hong Kong Housing Society as Director of Corporate Planning and Finance.

Commenting her new appointment, Ms Chan said she feels extremely honoured to be appointed to take on this worthwhile and challenging role and looks forward to making a start on many new plans.

"We shall maintain our momentum on expanding innovative membership services and support, thought leadership as well as international convergence in all aspects of our work to prepare to ride on the wave of the Accounting Plus era."

Ms Chan said she would be working closely with the Council to define objectives and strategies to provide a clear direction and focus for the Institute's work ahead.

 

香港會計師公會委任新行政總裁兼註冊主任

 

（香港，二零一九年六月二十六日）香港會計師公會（「公會」）今天宣佈委任陳詠新女士為公會的新任行政總裁兼註冊主任。陳女士將於二零一九年七月十一日履新。

香港會計師公會會長羅富源宣佈任命時表示，理事會很高興邀得陳女士出任這個重要職位。

羅先生說：「陳女士擁有深厚的商務經驗，有能力帶領公會的發展更上一層樓。我很高興公會邀請到具才幹和資歷的人才加入，相信她定能引領公會迎接未來各種挑戰及機遇。」

陳女士為公會會員，擁有逾30年豐富的會計、財務及企業發展經驗。加入公會前，她曾任香港房屋協會企業規劃及財務總監。

陳女士在接受委任時表示，她很榮幸能獲得是項委任，肩負起這個富意義及充滿挑戰的崗位，並期待展開一系列的新計劃。

「公會會繼續致力為會員提供創新服務及支援、發揮領導思維的角色，並爭取各方面的工作能與國際融合，迎接『Accounting Plus』世代的新發展。」

陳女士表示將與理事會緊密合作，為公會制定目標及策略，並為未來工作訂下清晰的方向及重點。
