|
The Institute released its budget proposals for the government's 2024-25 budget. The proposals include a wide range of measures under four main themes - covering stimulating investment, attracting and retaining talent and fostering innovation, supporting the wellbeing of the community and promoting sustainability, as well as reforming the tax system.

Addressing the talent shortage
|
|
|
|
The Institute conducted the Survey on shortage of accounting professionals in Hong Kong to gain insights from members into the current state of talent supply within the accounting profession in Hong Kong. The Institute proposes several recommendations based on the findings of the survey.

Engaging the future generation
|
As part of the HKICPA Experiential Learning Activity Series, over 100 students and teachers participated in a company visit to Ernst & Young (EY) on 24 January.
Jasmine Lee, Council Member of the Institute and Managing Partner of EY, kindly met with the group to introduce the company and share her insights on the accounting profession. The participants were then given a tour of the office, offering an exclusive glimpse into the inner workings of the professional firm and uncovering the fascinating aspects behind the scenes.

Good news to kick start the new year! The Institute's teams clinched the 1st runner up in badminton and champions in table tennis at the RSCP Tournaments 2024. Join ISCA as an Associate member
|
The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) welcomes all members of the Institute to apply for membership admission to ISCA as Associate members, of which the official designation is “Associate (ISCA)”.
Steps to apply to be Associate (ISCA)
1. Create an account on the ISCA Portal
2. Fill up the online application form
3. Upload a copy of the following supporting documents:
- Singapore NRIC/Passport (for foreigners)
- Degree/Professional Qualification Certificate
- Degree/Professional Qualification Transcript
- Character References Form (included within the online application)
ISCA Professional Business Accountant (PBA)
Members may also consider the ISCA Professional Business Accountant (PBA) pathway after being admitted as an Associate (ISCA). After completing the ISCA PBA Programme (31 hours comprising e-learning and a half-day leadership workshop), they can reclassify to an ISCA PBA if they already have 3 years of relevant work experience.
