File individual tax returns via eTax
The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) will issue its tax return for individuals in early June. The paper returns will be due for filing within one month from the date of issue. Instead of filing paper returns, taxpayers can choose to file the returns via the IRD electronic platform – eTax. Filing via eTax grants an additional month to prepare returns and is more environmentally friendly.

Exemptions from compulsory quarantine arrangement
Certain professionals are exempt from the government’s compulsory quarantine arrangement when travelling between Hong Kong and the Mainland for work. This includes certified public accountants (practising) and other members of registered practice units who are required to conduct audit work for companies listed in Hong Kong. The Institute is providing administrative support for the scheme, and has invited public interest entity auditors to register. Further information is available on the COVID-19 – CPA Information Centre webpage.
